‘Paper Girls’ has dropped all episodes on Amazon Prime Video and fans are claiming it's their next big obsession

We have very rarely seen a well-plotted and brilliantly conceptualized series like ‘Stranger Things’ which ticks off all the boxes for audiences and fans globally that enjoy watching sci-fi and time-travel adventure series. But looks like Amazon Prime Video’s highly awaited series ‘Paper Girls’ which is a live-action adaptation of the iconic comics originally written by Brian K Vaughan and Cliff Chiang could be another timeless masterpiece in same genre with the right mix of sci-fi, time-travel adventure, drama, action, emotionally layered characters also focusing on the four young girls friendship which makes them strong enough to fight the evil villains to save the world. All the eight episodes have been released today itself.

The synopsis of the sci-fi drama series ‘Paper Girls’ reads, “It's the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019. When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.”

All the eight episodes have presented audiences with a riveting yet brilliantly well-made story of four young girls who unknowingly get caught with a warring group of time-travellers and because of that chaos they suddenly end up travelling to futuristic world of 2019 and end up meeting their grown up versions, which makes them question their past, present and future as well. These girls go through a myriad of emotions in the show wherein they lose some of their loved ones as well. That makes them realize the severity of this situation and how the irreparable change in the timeline between past and present because of villains who have been engaged in a chase to kill them has endangered the entire world and mankind at large.

The girls stick together and battle it out with enemies. They end up getting almost hunted down by Prioress (Adina Porter) who has a change of heart and lets them live in their world peacefully but sacrifices her life to save them and dies at the hands of the curly haired man and his army of villains who want to destroy the world.

Ever since all the eight episodes have been dropped today, fans have turned Twitter into a live tweet fest.
