The couple met through Instagram last year and got engaged in March 2022

'Dancing with the Stars' pro Brandon Armstrong, 28, tied the knot with 24-year-old Brylee Ivers, a social media manager, in a romantic outdoor ceremony in Draper, Utah on Saturday, July 30. After a religious ceremony earlier that day, the couple exchanged vows in front of their 125 family members and closest friends at Siempre. Speaking to PEOPLE, Armstrong said, Because so many people get married in Utah so young, we wanted something that was a little bit different than the traditional church, chapel wedding. He popped the question to Ivers in March.

The duo started dating in the early days of last year and had met through Instagram. Armstrong said, I was going on a few dates and they were all lame. They were terrible. I downloaded an app that's similar to Tinder but for our Church to be funny. I was scrolling through and saw her but I was too embarrassed to message her. So, I DM'ed her on Instagram instead and she ghosted me. Apparently, Ivers was trying to be cool.

They exchanged messages for a month and had their first date at The Cheesecake Factory. Soon around Christmas, the couple started to look for engagement rings, but Armstrong had other plans. Brylee is big on memories. So I was thinking, what if I made a movie trailer that she could keep forever? One of the first times we had a deep conversation was outside a movie theater, he recollected. That was also the first time Armstrong confessed his love for Ivers.

For their wedding, the duo opted for a non-traditional path and had their 'first look' prior to the ceremony. They said it was super special for both of them. Armstrong said that he is not a crier, but when he saw his bride in a simple and timeless gown by Alta Moda, he balled. He said, I knew she was obviously gonna choose a dress that was going to be beautiful. And I didn't have any really defining or super important feelings about what I wanted the dress to look like. I was just happy that it was something that was beautiful and that she felt confident in. Everything was so, so good! The bride walked down the aisle to Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling In Love'. The groom was accompanied by 18 groomsmen and bridesmaids on each side. The venue was surrounded by plush greenery and white roses designed by Artisan Bloom.

After the intimate ceremony, the couple enjoyed dinner with their guests and shared their first dance to Daniel Caesar and H.E.R's 'Best Part.' They then headed to the bigger celebration with 500 people. 'DWTS' pros Lindsay Arnold, Witney Carson, Jenna Johnson, and Emma Slater also attended the wedding.

The duo cut a five-tier almond-flavored wedding cake during their reception made by Alessandra. Then they danced the night away to the early 2000s and hit songs of current times played by DJ RJ Barrera. The newlyweds will soon head off to their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. Armstrong said, I'm excited that I can commit to her and express my love to her and that I can do it in a way that I think is right. A way that is good and loving and old school. I'm excited to show people she's the love of my life and that I'm committed to her.
