Rowdy Ohio State football fans are absolutely losing it on message boards over recruitment.

Ohio State football fans are taking Ricky Bobby gospel to heart when it comes to recruitment.

In a world of if you ain't first, you're last, Buckeyes fans are getting buck wild on Bucknuts message boards about the program seemingly falling apart at the seams. Who does No. 2 in recruiting work for? That would be Ryan Day at Ohio State. Despite only trailing Notre Dame on the recruiting trails in 2023, Day and new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles are getting shredded.

Ohio State may have 19 commits for 2023, but only one of them is a five-star.

Though the Buckeyes only trail the Irish by a few points in 247Sports' team recruiting rankings, Georgia, Alabama and Texas are all within 10 points of THE Ohio State University…

Ohio State football fans are losing their minds over latest recruiting meltdown

No, it is not just one Ohio State fan getting big mad on an ole message board, alright. Panic is emanating from every corner of the great state of Ohio. Whether is is Ohio State being used by prospective college athletes to get more from other schools, to Knowles running a gimmicky, non-NFL oriented scheme, it is hard to believe this team can even compete for a national title…

Of course, the Buckeyes will only go as far as Knowles' defense will take them this season. The offense should be spectacular, as quarterback C.J. Stroud could be the first player taken in the 2023 NFL Draft after winning a Heisman Trophy. Stroud may have lost Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson to the NFL, but he still has Jaxon Smith-Njigba, among many others, to sling the football to.

Ultimately, anything short of a Big Ten title and a national championship game appearance should be seen as a failure for this team. Ohio State may not be able to beat both Alabama and Georgia in succession to win the College Football Playoff, but they are one of three teams with the best shot at winning the whole thing. Expectations could not be higher than it is for Day in his fourth season.

Buckeyes fans will be quick to point to the defense if Ohio State is not able to achieve all its goals.
